Target Audience

If you are a pharmacist, nurse practitioner, or other health care professional involved in the comprehensive medication management of individuals living with mental health and/or substance use disorders, we invite you to participate in this online course.

Session Summary

Migraine headache is the second leading cause of years lived with disability worldwide. Treatment of migraine headache has evolved and encompasses a wide variety of mechanistically different treatment options. With the recent availability of treatment options, including new oral agents, a review of these agents and their place in therapy and appropriate use of these medications is warranted.

  2. Compare and contrast evidence-based pharmacological treatment options available for acute and preventive migraine management.
  3. Describe the role of novel Calcitonin Gene Related Peptide (CGRP) agents in contemporary migraine treatment.
