Seeking Authors for 2026-2027 Psychiatric Pharmacotherapy Review Book

AAPP encourages AAPP BCPP members to apply for consideration to serve as author of a module for the 2026-27 Psychiatric Pharmacy Review Book. The Review book is launched every 2 years and is both a preparatory, self-study book for the BCPP candidate as well as a recertification product for BCPPs recertifying by continuing education.

Authors are provided the module from the previous edition as a starting point and are charged with updating to reflect new information and developments using a prescribed, required outline. Authors are responsible for:

New! Virtual Mental Health First Aid Instructors

The AAPP Foundation will be offerring Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) multiple times throughout 2024 in the hybrid virtual setting, consisting of 2 hours of home study + 6 hours of virtual group instruction. Virtual-certified MHFA instructors are needed! In coordination with a co-instructor, instructors will be provided with a course roster and are expected to enroll and communicate with participants as needed. Instructors will receive a small honorarium.

New! Help Advocate for Youth in Foster Care

Psychiatric pharmacists are on the frontlines providing direct patient care, optimizing medication outcomes, and supporting fellow health care colleagues in primary care and mental health (AAPP Health Policy 2023). Youth in foster care are a population with unique vulnerability to adverse outcomes from psychotropic medications given significantly higher rates of psychotropic prescribing, frequent change in residence, caregivers, and health care providers.
