AAPP Communities provide a basic infrastructure to facilitate email discussions, share resources, and interact with others in a common practice setting or of professional interest. All AAPP members are eligible to be community leaders, and those without other volunteer placements will be prioritized. Up to 2 leaders per community will be selected, pending interest. This is a great way to get involved with AAPP and to be a leader in your practice setting!

AAPP is investing in supporting member participation in targeted conferences or meetings. The Ambassador Program provides funding and support for AAPP members to present at interprofessional conferences regarding the integration of BCPPs into practice. These are intended to be introductory sessions that appeal both to audiences who are unaware of BCPPs and to audiences who need more information before adding a BCPP to the team.

New! Seeking Virtual Mental Health First Aid Instructors

The AAPP Foundation will be offerring Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) multiple times throughout 2025 and 2026 in the hybrid virtual setting. This consists of 2 hours of participant home study + 6 hours of virtual group instruction in a Zoom classroom. Virtual-certified MHFA instructors are needed! In coordination with a co-instructor, instructors will be provided with a course roster and are expected to enroll and communicate with participants as needed. Instructors will receive a small honorarium.

AAPP is a sponsoring organization of the NIDA Mentor-Facilitated Training Awards (NIDA-MFT) which supports the development of expertise in SUD among early career investigators through the completion of a mentor-supervised project.

Goals of the Award: The goals of the award are: 1) to promote the dissemination of SUD research findings, 2) to increase utilization of evidence-based SUD treatment among healthcare providers, and 3) to facilitate the professional growth and development of future clinician leaders in SUD management.
