The mission of the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP) is to advance the reach and practice of psychiatric pharmacy and serve as the voice of the specialty to improve the public’s mental health care. Innovative quality improvement projects that support the integration of psychiatric pharmacists into mental health care teams are critical for the advancement of the profession.
The primary goal of this practice expansion grant program was to provide $25,000 to support quality improvement where the financial return on investment is insufficient to progress without external funding according to facility administrators. The 2026 application window will be announced no later than at AAPP 2026.
In December 2025, the practice expansion grant was awarded to P. Brittany Vickery for the project, “The Hendersonville Free Clinic Practice Expansion via Flexible-Schedule Telepsychiatry Provided by a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner.” The project will expand access to care by a BCPP at multiple clinics.
Funded by the AAPP Foundation through a gift from AAPP Founding Member Joni Fowler, PharmD.
