Target Audience

If you are a pharmacist, nurse practitioner, or other health care professional involved in the comprehensive medication management of individuals living with mental health and/or substance use disorders, we invite you to participate in this online course.

Session Summary

Approximately half of individuals with anxiety disorders, the most common psychiatric disorder, are treatment refractory. While treatment options exist for many refractory psychiatric illnesses, there is limited guidance for the treatment of treatment refractory generalized anxiety disorder. In this session, participants will explore evidence-based, novel pharmacologic recommendations for refractory cases of generalized anxiety disorder. Initial options and maintenance therapy options will be discussed and identified based on different treatment line options.

To receive ACPE credit for this session, you must:

  • Complete the post-test at the end of the activity no later than the closing activity date.
  • Complete the evaluation at the end of the activity.
