All health professionals engaged in the care of patients with psychiatric disorders will find this meeting to be an educational and enlightening experience that positively impacts daily practice.
ACPE Credit
The College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. The 2021 Annual Meeting will provide up to 23 contact hours of knowledge-based and application-based continuing education credit from CPNP approved programming. Industry supported symposia offered at the Annual Meeting offer additional ACPE credit.
To earn credit, participants must participate, verify their attendance at the programming, and complete evaluations and self-assessment questions. CPNP reports to CPE Monitor within days of evaluation completion and provides transcripts online at cpnp.org. CPE Monitor does not accept ACPE credit submissions after 60 days making timely evaluation completion essential.
Nursing Credit
ACPE approved contact hours are accepted for ANCC Certification Renewal (as quoted on the ANCC website): “Formally approved continuing education must meet the following criteria: Sponsored by organizations, agencies, or educational institutions accredited or approved by the ...the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)."
The CPNP Annual Meeting has been designed to bridge the perceived practice and knowledge gap between current knowledge and practice in a number of areas of psychiatric, neurologic, and addiction pharmacy practice. Published evidence-based guidelines help establish standards in regard to medications, dosing, and treatment, however, there are often disparities seen in clinical practice when compared to these guidelines. Additionally, many guidelines fail to keep up with emerging treatments and controversial issues or simply do not address practical day-to-day treatment dilemmas. This meeting will attempt to bridge this gap in treatment and knowledge with selected psychiatric, neurologic, and substance use disorder issues.
