Complimentary CE on ALS Treatment Expires June 5

A CPNP co-sponsored educational activity, Expanding the Treatment Armamentarium for ALS: Implications for Psychiatric & Neurologic Pharmacists, is available through June 5, 2019. This complimentary, knowledge-based activity is approved for 1.0 contact hour of ACPE credit and is designed to inform and educate psychiatric and neurologic pharmacists on how to successfully recognize amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) presentations, optimize treatment regimens, and contribute to ALS multidisciplinary care.

Learning Objectives

• Identify common presentations of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and the need for a timely referral to a neurology specialist.
• List the significant disabilities associated with ALS and the patient implications.
• Describe available treatment options for ALS including disease-modifying and symptomatic therapies.
• Select effective strategies to improve medication management and patient understanding of ALS.
• Outline patient-specific recommendations for care of the ALS patient.
