Over the past four years, there has been a steady growth of student attendees at the Annual Meeting. To meet the needs of these attendees, CPNP has increased student-focused programming to include additional activities outside of the standard student programming track on Sunday afternoon. These activities as well as the student programming track will address topics that are important to students at this point in their career with the goal of preparing students to further their skills and their careers in psychiatric pharmacy. Here is a glimpse into CPNP 2018 student offerings prior to registration opening n later than early November.

After this presentation, attendees will have fundamental tips, a timeline, and answers to a few important questions students may have including the following: When do I start planning my residency search strategy? Student Social Event (Monday, 4/23)
A student social event will be hosted by the Purdue Student Chapter on Monday evening of CPNP 2018.
Residency Program Director Pearls (Tuesday, 4/24)
A pearls session with Residency Program Directors will be offered on Tuesday, 4/24. Three Residency Program Directors will participate in a panel with focus on how to stand out as a candidate and what life is like as a resident. Plenty of time will be dedicated to Q&A, so students should come prepared with questions.
Mentoring Opportunity
In addition to tailored programming, students have an opportunity to be paired up with pharmacist members for a one-on-one (30 minute) mentoring opportunity during CPNP 2018. Pairing of the mentor to the mentee will be based on the specialty interests of the member and student, to be identified during the online registration process. Once paired, mentors and mentees will set up a time to meet during CPNP 2018 to answer questions and discuss future plans.
More information about student opportunities at CPNP 2018 will be released over the next few months, and online registration will open in November. Mark your calendars to attend CPNP 2018, April 22-25 and continue to watch the CPNP 2018 website and the CPNP Student Members Facebook page for additional information.
