CPNP was invited to appoint a representative to participate on a project spearheaded by The National Council Medical Directors Council. CPNP’s representative is Jennifer Zacher, PharmD, BCPP, Assistant Chief Consultant in the VA Pharmacy Benefits Management Service. The project involved convening an expert panel to write a report recommending what can be done to improve access to psychiatric services. The expert panel met in Chicago on September 12 and 13th. The resulting product will be a Monograph focused on access to psychiatric services and the growing workforce shortage. It will both investigate contributing causes and propose a wide range of actionable solutions and will be presented to multiple groups, including policy makers, clinic administrators, government regulators, and payers nationally. No similar comprehensive analysis and resource for change is currently available.

Kelly N. Gable, PharmD, BCPP Associate Professor, Coordinator, Global Partnerships SIUE School of Pharmacy, contributed an “In Your Own Words” feature to BPS on the value of the BCPP credentials.

Beth Winans, PharmD, BCPP, is being recognized as a Cancer Champion and will be escorting Coach Bruce Weber, coach of Kansas State basketball, into the AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY'S COACHES vs. CANCER SEASON TIPOFF EVENT in Kansas City, Missouri. The CPNP family pledges their ongoing support to Beth Winans.
