CPNP is on the steering committees of PCSS-O and PCSS-MAT (Provider’s Clinical Support System for Opioid Therapies and Medication Assisted Therapies, respectively). Other partners include the American Medical Association, American Dental Association, American Nursing Association, Association for Medical Education and Research in Substance Abuse, American Society of Addiction Medicine, American Psychiatric Association, American Pain Society and many others.

The PCSS-O and PCSS-MAT programs are entering the third year of their grant from SAMHSA. Member organizations are eligible to apply each year for grants of up to $5000 to develop educational programs, training materials, and other resources for health professionals on the safe and effective use of opioid medications in the treatment of pain and opioid addiction and to enhance the clinical proficiency of prescribers and providers in treating opioid addiction through medication assisted treatment. Feel free to contact Chris Stock, CPNP's PCSS-O and PCSS-MAT representative, if you have ideas for future PCSS-O or PCSS-MAT programs that would help pharmacists to ease the public health burdens associated with opioid use, misuse, and addiction

The PCSS-O and PCSS-MAT programs also provide mentoring opportunities for organizations’ members to receive and give advice to help each other manage opioid use concerns in their practice. If you would like to become a mentor or receive advice from a peer mentor, also contact Chris Stock.
