Jolene Bostwick, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP and Kyle Burghardt, PharmD, co-authored an article in the July 2014 issue of Current Psychiatry. The article, "Opportunities to Partner with Clinical Pharmacists in Ambulatory Psychiatry," reveals a model which explores how clinical pharmacists can play a role in ambulatory psychiatry.
Kelly Gable, PharmD, BCPP, has received approval from the Missouri Department of Mental Health to fulfill the role of psychiatric care provider delivering medication and consultation services through the collaborative practice agreement with and under the supervision of a physician at Places for People. Gable had been approved to participate as a member of the community psychiatric rehabilitation treatment team, plan treatments, and "approve the treatment plan for individuals for whom she provides medication management services." The medication and consultation services Gable provides through the collaborative practice agreement to people enrolled in community psychiatric rehabilitation programs are reimbursable by Medicaid.
