Program Philosophy

This is an ASHP candidate status PGY2 residency in psychiatry at UW Medicine. The primary practice sites for this program are Harborview Medical Center and the University of Washington Northwest Campus. The program provides twelve months of training designed to develop and refine the skills necessary to make and monitor therapeutic interventions for the safe and efficacious use of drug therapy in psychiatric patient populations.

Site Special Features

This residency program is located at an academic medical center and provides training in all aspects of advanced psychiatric pharmacy practice. Opportunities for residents include experiences in acute inpatient stabilization, ambulatory patient care, drug information, drug-use policy development, public speaking, practice management, and teaching.
