The Program Committee designs your AAPP Annual Meeting. Their responsibilities include speaker selection and communication, objectives design, review of programming materials, adherence to accreditation standards, and innovative programming implementation and evaluation. (Meets: Virtually 1 time per month June-Jan., 2 times per month Feb.-April, and in-person at Annual Meeting, Time Commitment: Average of 2-4 hours per month and 35 hours over course of the year, heaviest workload is in the months of February through April)
1. Continue to recruit members diverse in perspective and demographics and preferably with programming experience for committee service to enhance the quality of annual meeting experience for members

2. Conduct a needs assessment to determine programming needed
Due: March or April of each year |
a. Document all needs assessment research by demonstrating gaps in participant knowledge or skill and how the programming will assist in filling identified gaps
|
b. Develop topics for needs assessment survey administered by staff
|
c. Review the previous program evaluations, gather input from key individuals involved with the previous meeting, and conduct any other reasonable needs assessments to further improve the previous program
|
d. Conduct various focus groups and/or pursue additional conduits for feedback and information. Targets include attendees, key thought leaders, non-attendees, communities, and AAPP committees

5. Plan the Annual Meeting
|
a. Submit an AM program proposal for BOD consideration including impactful, active learning strategies and formats, networking opportunities, min of 12 hours of diverse, cutting-edge, and advanced-level programming utilizing faculty who are experts on the identified topic, strong presenters, and diverse in perspective, credentials, and demographics. Due: 09/2024 |
b. Communicate with other committee chairs, thought leaders and communities, including research, to discuss any suggestions that they may have for content/speakers for the next meeting

c. Select qualified, diverse, dynamic speakers

d. Complete thorough peer review of speaker materials ensuring adherence to all ACPE standards

e. Maintain ongoing, thorough communication with all speakers

6. Implement and evaluate the meeting

a. Host speakers and moderate sessions at the meeting as assigned
|
b. Attend sessions and complete audit documentation to ensure adherence to quality and ACPE standards
|
c. Facilitate dialogue with attendees to obtain feedback and future programming and meeting format ideas
