Thanks to volunteers and donors at the 2015 AAPP Annual Meeting in Tampa, I attended conference programming as a student member and solidified my passion for psychiatric pharmacy. I am always looking for ways to give back to the next generation of psychiatric pharmacists as was done for me.
A network. Psychiatric pharmacy is always evolving, and volunteering enables you to maintain a closer network of colleagues across the country. Even if you work in an area with many psychiatric pharmacists, you would be amazed how diversifying your networks can expand your opportunities immensely.
From the value that a psychiatric pharmacy organization can bring. My activities within AAPP empower me to better support our school's student pharmacists and health-system's patients.
Don't hesitate to start small! Even a one-time volunteering action can make a huge difference for the psychiatric pharmacy profession, AAPP membership, and yourself.
