Target Audience

If you are a pharmacist, nurse practitioner, or other health care professional involved in the comprehensive medication management of individuals living with mental health and/or substance use disorders, we invite you to participate in this online course.

Session Summary

While attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) was historically recognized as primarily a pediatric disorder, it is now recognized as a chronic often lifelong disorder. The previous few decades have seen an increasing number of adult patients seeking ADHD evaluation and treatment. Despite being associated with negative outcomes, many individuals may go untreated due to under- and misdiagnosis. The national stimulant shortage, which began in the Fall of 2022, is driven by many factors. This program will discuss how psychiatric pharmacists can evaluate ADHD in adults, create treatment plans, and identify treatment alternatives.
