Clinical pearls are an important part of medical education where psychiatric pharmacists share their experiences with unique patient cases and/or clinical challenges. The Program Committee is pleased to once again be accepting submissions for a presentation at AAPP 2025 on Tuesday, April 29, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Pharmacists should submit their clinical pearl online for consideration by the January 16, 2025, deadline, and up to 6 presentations will be selected.
Each submission should provide the following information:

One of the major pillars of the AAPP Strategic Plan is to implement the concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) as core values within AAPP. As such, AAPP encourages incorporation of age, geographic location, ethnicity, race, appearance, disability, gender, sexual orientation, language, literacy, level of education, religion, socioeconomic status, living conditions, and/or other relevant social determinants of health in teaching and learning methods.
While there is no standardized criteria for a clinical pearl, it is typically a case-based method of sharing information for which controlled data is limited or does not exist. High-level overviews of common clinical scenarios are discouraged. Priority will be given to topics that complement (and do not overlap) topics already on the Annual Meeting schedule.
All submissions will be evaluated for the content of slides, quality of learning objectives, evaluation of the literature on the proposed topic, balance of the submission topic and the Annual Meeting schedule, and potential impact on practice (even if niche topic). Selected presenters will be asked to write 2 assessment questions and rationales for their session.
Notifications of selected Clinical Pearls will occur on or before February 6, 2025, and presenting authors will receive a $125 registration discount for the 2025 Annual Meeting. Once selected, presenters will work with the programming committee to ensure ACPE accreditation guidelines are met and slides fit the official AAPP format. Clinical pearls will be presented on Tuesday, April 29, and up to 6 presentations will be selected.
