Target Audience

We invite you to participate in this online course if you are a pharmacist, nurse, or other health care professional interested in administering and/or learning more about psychotropic long-acting injectables for patients living with serious mental illness or substance use disorders.

Session Summary

Live Peer-to-Peer Virtual Networking Session on November 4, 2024 from 4:00-5:00 CST

This module outlines considerations for use of two LAIs to manage patient symptoms associated with schizophrenia or bipolar disorder, evaluation of use in pregnant patients, and appropriate use in pediatric patients. This activity includes a 0.5-hour pre-recorded presentation and a 1-hour live, peer-to-peer virtual networking session.

Post-networking session follow-up question and answer:

  • Question from attendee: Does your facility use any form of documentation for a pregnant patient to consent to medication treatment?
  • Answer from speaker: The clinics operate under an outpatient psychiatric consent for treatment form and then document in the patient record regarding any education that is provided.
