This activity serves as an educational tool for pharmacists seeking Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacist (BCPP) Recertification credit and other pharmacists and health care providers seeking advanced education in patient management, disease state management, information management, and health policy and practice management in the field of psychiatric pharmacy.
Content
The Clinical Application Series is an application-based continuing pharmacy education (CPE) activity designed to improve competency of participants. An application-based CPE activity requires that participants apply the information learned. In an application-based CPE activity, the learning objectives are written at a higher level in order to assess the learner's ability to use the information that is learned, at the expected level of practice of Board Certified Psychiatric Pharmacists. The examination for this product often features case studies requiring that the participant apply the principles learned through the sessions.
The Clinical Application Series includes:
Online access to the recorded speakers' audio presentations synchronized with their slide presentations (presented live at CPNP 2022, April 24 and 25 in San Antonio, TX).
For pharmacists, 5 hours of ACPE credit and 5 hours of BCPP Recertification credit achieved by successfully completing the online CPNP recertification examination.
Access to the CPNP testing center with exam submission due on or before October 24, 2022.
Course Requirements
To satisfactorily complete the Clinical Application Series and receive 5 hours of BCPP Recertification and ACPE credit, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Abide by a confidentiality and honesty statement requiring individual completion of the Recertification education.
Complete an online assessment on or before the deadline of October 24, 2022.
Receive a passing grade (72%).
Completion of an activity evaluation form.
Partial credit is not available for individual topics within the programming; it is either all 5 hours of Clinical Application Series credit or none.
You will proceed through the following steps to satisfactorily complete this course:

Participants successfully passing the required assessment/examination will obtain both ACPE and BCPP recertification credit. Credit is awarded in the calendar year the assessment is completed. ACPE credit is reported through CPE Monitor within days of examination submission, while BCPP recertification credit is reported to BPS within 6 weeks after the examination deadline.

Dr. Austin Campbell Pharm.D., BCPP, is a Clinical Assistant Professor with University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Pharmacy at MU in Columbia, Missouri. Additionally, he is an adjunct assistant professor with the University of Missouri Medical School. Currently he practices as a psychiatric ambulatory care pharmacist in the internal medicine and geriatric clinics.
Dr. Campbell graduated from the UMKC School of Pharmacy in 2008. He went on to completed a first year postgraduate residency at the Kansas City VA Medical Center and a second year specialty residency in psychiatry at the Center for Behavioral Medicine in Kansas City before obtaining his board certification in psychiatric pharmacy (BCPP). Prior to his current appointment, Dr. Campbell served as the acute inpatient psychiatric pharmacist for adults and pediatrics at University of Missouri Health Care in Columbia, Missouri for more than 11 years.
As an avid educator, Dr. Campbell has received multiple awards for his service to the community and commitment to training students, residents, and fellows. He is recognized throughout the state of Missouri for his outreach and education efforts with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), the Department of Mental Health, Missouri Telehealth Network, and the Missouri Children’s Health Integration Learning and Development (MO CHILD) Center for Excellence. Since 2016 he has been an active member of Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) and has helped in the creation and launch of two separate ECHOs. Dr. Campbell is an active member of the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) serving as a member of multiple committees and editorial boards and is the current programing chair for the 2022, 25th Annual Meeting.

Kristin Bohnenberger, PharmD, DABAT is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University and an emergency medicine pharmacist at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center. After receiving her PharmD from Wilkes University she completed a PGY-1 pharmacy practice residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Presbyterian and a clinical fellowship in toxicology and emergency medicine at the Florida/USVI Poison Information Center in Jacksonville.
She is a board-certified clinical toxicologist and is actively involved in the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology and the American Board of Applied Toxicology. Working in the emergency department affords her a unique opportunity to get some insight into new and emerging trends in illicit substance use. Her research interests include the optimization of antidotal therapies in overdose patients and emergency preparedness. She is delighted to be speaking at CPNP 2022!

George R. Brown, MD, DFAPA, is Associate Chairman for Veterans Affairs and Professor of Psychiatry at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. He served 3 terms on the World Professional Association for Transgender Health’s Board of Directors, and one term as Secretary/Treasurer. He has been involved with authoring the international Standards of Care for the evaluation and treatment of transgender and gender nonconforming persons since 1996.
Dr. Brown served 12 years in the US Air Force as a psychiatrist and worked with transgender active duty service members and with transgender Veterans. He has been on staff at the Mountain Home VA Medical Center for over 27 years, and coauthored the original national VHA formulary for transgender Veterans’ gender-affirming treatments. He has published 168 articles and scientific abstracts, as well as 26 book chapters, including publishing some of the largest matched cohort studies to date on health disparities in gender minorities. Dr. Brown received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award for Research on Transgender Health in 2018.
Dr. Brown frequently shares his expertise in court on issues related to health care access for transgender persons, particularly gender affirming hormones and surgeries for state health plan beneficiaries and for access to gender affirming care of all types for prisoners in state and federal custody.

Troy A. Moore received his PharmD from the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy in 2003. He subsequently attended the University of Texas at Austin College of Pharmacy, receiving his Master of Science in Pharmacy in 2005 while completing a 2-year Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency at the San Antonio State Hospital and the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS). He is a reviewer for multiple psychiatric and pharmacy journals.
