AAPP is working to include as many diverse voices as possible within our educational activities. In 2024, we are piloting outreach to the most applicable AAPP committee and community leaders encouraging the submission of ideas for educational programming that could be included in AAPP’s upcoming events and products.
Please prioritize and submit one or two topics related to challenges currently affecting your field of practice or new trends arising within your specialty. Given that this is a pilot, we would ask that you contribute your expertise as a leader of your community but not distribute this invitation to other committee or community members. This will allow you to contribute your expertise while allowing AAPP to pilot this on a smaller scale. The ultimate goal is to insert many ideas as we work together to shape AAPP’s educational offerings and enhance the learning experience for our members!
The ideas will be reviewed by members of programming and recertification editorial boards. These editorial boards also contribute topic ideas and consider many factors when making selections (e.g., alignment with the BPS Psychiatric Pharmacy Content Outline, alignment with DEI initiatives, data from the AAPP member needs assessment, content covered in previous AAPP educational products).
Submission of a topic does not guarantee selection, as the number of submissions will likely far exceed the number of spots available. Editorial boards conduct a thorough review of the literature and speaker search on topics of interest before making a final selection. Ideas that are not selected for a specific product/event are stored for consideration by other editorial boards or for use in the future. There will be no additional involvement from the committee or community after ideas are submitted.
