The Review Course Editorial Board is responsible for developing and implementing standards for AAPP's Psychiatric Pharmacotherapy Review Course. Their responsibilities include author selection and communication, objectives design, curriculum review, test question review to ensure validity and reliability, and programming implementation and evaluation. (Meets: Virtually 3-4 times per year, Time Commitment: Average of 4 hours per month and 50 hours over the course even-numbered years and 8 hours per month and 100 hours over the course of odd-numbered years, BCPP required).

Charges to the Review Course Editorial Board

1.
Implement the BCPP Prep Series Product
a.
Launch quality, BCPP Prep Series on time
b.
Evaluate the success of the product and make recommendations for continuation and/or revisions
2.
Implement the Psychiatric Pharmacy Specialty Mock Exam
a.
Launch quality, BCPP Mock Exam on time
b.
Evaluate the success of the product and make recommendations for continuation and/or revisions
3.
Maintain quality of BCPP recertification products and processes. Note: Charges 3a through 3c will be completed largely by staff with consultation with all Recert leaders across all products.

Launch quality, evidence-based Review Course on-time
b.
Implement established policies and procedures designed to ensure recertification products and exams are valid, reliable, high quality, unbiased, and adhere to DEI principles.

Participate as needed in planning regarding new product development or current product revamping
4.
Evaluate, compose and train editorial board
a.
Evaluate editorial board appointment needs and if necessary, begin selection of additional or replacement editorial board members
b.
Deliver training to the editorial board at the Annual Meeting, or when/where appropriate, regarding exam question writing, efficient and effective review processes, etc.
5.
Proceed through development cycle steps and processes for the current 2-year cycle for the BCPP Prep Series and Review Course according to timeline and expectations established in guideline manuals
6.
Review the most recently launched course in order to plan for necessary alterations to the process and content for the next 2 year product.
a.
Conduct a review of the modules and presentations from the most recently launched course (even year)
b.
Recommend product alterations for the next product (2026-2027) and document in the guideline manual
c.
Carefully review survey, evaluation and needs assessment results as part of the review process.
d.
Revise author and editor guideline manuals to document changes in process or content.
