SBAR (Situation-Background-Assessment-Recommendation) is a verbal or written communication framework used to convey crucial information in a clear and concise manner. This method of communicating time sensitive patient information is often employed in the clinical setting but may also replace an executive summary in a written report, which will be the use demonstrated in the examples to follow. This toolkit provides three SBAR examples to demonstrate the utility of this communication method.
