AAPP Foundation and Psychopharmacology Pearls Editorial Board Volunteer

My Why
I’ve been a proud member of AAPP for 25 years, and I can say without hesitation that I’m a better psychiatric pharmacist because of this organization. The resources, connections, and opportunities AAPP offers have helped shape my professional journey in countless ways.
I Gain…
In addition to gaining invaluable clinical knowledge, I’ve also developed a strong network of colleagues—and lifelong friends. The Annual Meeting each April is the highlight of my year. It’s more than a conference; it’s a reunion with people who feel like family. I always leave feeling recharged and inspired by the shared commitment we have to serving individuals with mental illness. As the only mental health faculty member at my university, it can feel isolating at times—but my AAPP family is my professional and emotional support system.

My Employer Benefits…
My employer fully supports my attendance at the Annual Meeting and recognizes the time I invest in volunteering with AAPP as a meaningful contribution to both my professional development and our institution’s mission.

My Volunteer Tip

Don’t hesitate to get involved—and don’t be afraid to speak up! Your voice and experiences matter, and AAPP is a place where they’re truly valued.
