Target Audience

This course is designed for pharmacists and/or other healthcare professionals involved in the medication management of individuals living with psychiatric, neurologic and/or substance use disorders.

Session Summary

The management of fibromyalgia is challenging for healthcare professionals. Although widespread pain is the dominant symptom in fibromyalgia, sleep disturbances and fatigue are common features, which significantly influence a fibromyalgia patient’s quality of life. Moreover, treatment of sleep disturbances in patients with fibromyalgia is different, as current guidelines do not recommend use of typical sedative/hypnotic agents. This session will focus on the treatment of sleep disturbances in fibromyalgia patients.
