They are paired directly with other PGY2 psychiatrist residents during advance inpatient learning experiences and a geriatric psychiatry clinic for advance learning experiences during the second half of the year.

PGY1 Special Features

PGY1 residents are required to complete learning experiences in adult ambulatory care psychiatry. They have the option to complete additional electives in psychiatry as well as early commit to the PGY2 program.

The Kaiser Permanente San Jose Medical Center PGY2 Psychiatric Residency Program is designed to provide a well rounded psychiatric pharmacy experience. We meet our learners' needs and goals through our variety of inpatient and ambulatory learning experiences. We welcome all learners with a passion for mental health, collaboration, and direct patient care.
