  • PGY2 Other Features: This residency is within the Minnesota state hospital system. Core block rotations occur mostly at two main sites in Anoka, MN, and St. Peter, MN, with longitudinal and other experiences occurring at other sites around the state. Our residency provides experiences in a wide variety of patient care phases, from acute inpatient to long term inpatient to outpatient. Experiences include but not limited to: -Acute care psychiatry -Forensic psychiatry -Patient education groups -Geriatrics -Drug information/formulary management -Outpatient clinic -Academia -Leadership & Staffing Our new outpatient clinic experience includes serving patients with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our affiliation with the University of Minnesota gives our resident an Academic learning experience opportunity as faculty for an interprofessional mental health program. Through this affiliation there are also opportunities for further professional development (such as an optional teaching certificate among other opportunities). Our affiliation with Abbott Northwestern allows an opportunity for an elective inpatient pediatric/adolescent experience.
