  • PGY2 Other Features: The Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center PGY2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency is designed to offer didactic and clinical experiences leading to the development of a practitioner with expert knowledge in the area of psychiatric pharmacotherapy. Training will include experiences in acute inpatient psychiatry, inpatient consult/liaison psychiatry, outpatient mental health clinic, mental health residential rehabilitation treatment program, substance use disorder clinic, mental health urgent care clinic, and neurology. Longitudinal experiences will include primary care-mental health integration team, geropsychiatry clinic, PTSD clinic, administration, and research. Elective experiences include teaching certificate programs, academic detailing, and pain management. In addition, the resident will be involved in mentoring 4th year APPE students and PGY1 residents. The resident may also choose to complete an academia rotation at Concordia University of Wisconsin.

Site Special Features

The Milwaukee VA is a teaching institution with residents, interns, and medical students from the Medical College of Wisconsin. The Medical Center is also an established teaching center for the University of Wisconsin – Madison, Concordia University Wisconsin, Medical College of Wisconsin, and various other Schools of Pharmacy.
We plan to participate in the VANEC early commitment process if no internal candidate is selected.
