The Commission on Innovation and Advancement (CIA) works to identify how the practice of psychiatric pharmacy is evolving. By casting a vision of where the specialty is headed, the Commission focuses resources on the most urgent practice innovations and advancements. (Meets: Virtually 1-hour monthly and in-person at Annual Meeting, Time Commitment: Average of 4 hours per month and 50 hours over course of the year)

Charges to the Commission on Innovation and Advancement

1.
Plan and participate in regular strategic discussions with broader AAPP leadership (Board, chairs, etc.).
2.
Collaborate with CPD Committee to establish a robust environmental scanning process.
3.
Identify opportunities to expand the role of BCPPs.
4.
Lead 1-2 new projects to demonstrate and support the role of psychiatric pharmacists on the treatment team.
5.
Maintain project summary documents for all active projects for Board reference.
