Last week, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) issued five proposed annual payment updates for acute care and long-term care hospitals, hospices, skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation and psychiatric facilities. The proposed Medicare rate for inpatient psychiatric facilities would increase by 2.4% in FY26 (read the fact sheet). Additionally, each proposed rule includes a separate Request for Information on potential changes to Medicare regulation through this webpage where the public can submit comments regarding the questions posed.
