Session Summary

Mental Health First Aid is sponsored by the AAPP Foundation

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a skills-based training course that teaches participants about mental health and substance-use disorders. The AAPP Foundation is pleased to offer MHFA in the blended, virtual format that involves 2 hours of home study coursework and 6 hours with a certified instructor in a Zoom classroom.

Participants will Learn:

  • Risk factors and warning signs of mental health problems.
  • Information on depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, and addiction disorders.
  • A 5-step action plan to help someone developing a mental health problem or in crisis.
  • Where to turn for help — professional, peer, and self-help resources.

MHFA will be offered on June 4 (course is FULL) and June 6, 2024 (minimal spots remain!), and space is limited to the first 30 participants on each date. Please only register after you have confirmed that you are able and committed to participating in the training. By registering, you are claiming an available seat.

  • Registration Deadline: Extended to 5/7/24, or when classes are filled.
  • Home Study Component: Participants will receive access to home study course materials from course instructors the week of 5/1/24. 2 hours of home study are required and must be completed before participating in the 6-hour, instructor-led training.
  • Tuesday, June 4: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern/10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Central/8:00 AM - 2:00 PM Pacific - course is FULL
  • Thursday, June 6: 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern/10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Central/8:00 AM - 2:00 PM Pacific - minimal spots remain!

ACPE credit is not available for this blended-virtual course.

Thanks to the generous support of the AAPP Foundation, there is no cost to participants. After the 30-participant threshold is reached for each date, a waitlist will be started. Please email the Foundation at info@aappf.org to be added to the waitlist and specify which date you would like to attend. Registrants needing to withdraw must email info@aappf.org by 4/29/24 in order for waitlisted participants to be considered.
