Thank you for your interest in submitting an abstract to the 30th Annual Meeting of the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP). Posters will be displayed April 5th and 6th and published on aapp.org and in the April or June 2027 issue of Mental Health Clinician.
The abstract submission center will open in Fall 2026 and submissions will be due January 7, 2027.
Accepted Abstract Categories
Original Research: Abstracts should describe original research topics including medication use evaluations, quality assurance projects, implementation research, pharmacodynamics, pharmacoeconomics, pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenomics, and academic pursuits. See important notes below regarding Encore and Work in Progress abstracts.
Encore: Previously Presented Work
Abstracts of work that has already been presented and peer reviewed are submitted under Original Research. The submission must state where the work was previously presented, or it will be disqualified. Work presented by residents at ASHP Midyear is exempt from this requirement. Previously presented work is not eligible for any award and should not be submitted for award consideration.
WIP: Work in Progress
Abstracts describing preliminary results or the status of ongoing work are also submitted under Original Research, by principal investigators at any career stage. They must include an interim data analysis and a timetable for completing the study.
Innovative Practices: Abstracts describing the development, justification, documentation, and/or delivery of innovative services or activities applicable to psychiatric and neurologic pharmacy. The descriptive abstract should not duplicate any other abstract type.
Therapeutic Case Report: Abstracts describing the various aspects of pharmaceutical care relating to individual psychiatric and/or neurological pharmacy cases. The patient history should be complete, including age, gender, time from first diagnosis, social background, and details of and response to previous and current treatment(s).
