Course Description
A cancer diagnosis affects far more than physical health, yet the mental health needs of patients with cancer often remain underrecognized and undertreated. Through the lens of a lived patient experience and current evidence, this session will explore the prevalence and impact of anxiety, depression, and psychological distress, as well as the barriers that limit access to integrated mental health care. Participants will examine practical strategies to support the psychological well-being of patients with cancer and discuss the expanding role of pharmacists in delivering patient-centered psychiatric oncology care. Join this session to gain insights that can help improve both the mental health and overall quality of life of individuals navigating cancer treatment.
