Dr. Jason E. Bonner is a Clinical Health Psychologist in Primary Care-Mental Health Integration with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at the Durham VA Health Care System. He is the Consultant Psychologist for the Veterans Health Administration’s (VHA) Pharmacy Residency Program Office (PRPO) and the only non-pharmacy member of the VHA Pharmacy Residency Advisory Board providing guidance on issues intersecting wellness and pharmacy training.

He is a subject matter expert on topics of stress, burnout, coping, well-being, and resilience for pharmacy residency training. His direct consultative and programmatic support serves to address these issues in both residents and preceptors/program directors to help develop and maintain a more resilient pharmacy workforce.

Dr. Bonner is a regularly invited speaker to local and national VA pharmacy residency programs as well as national pharmacy practice conferences. He is a Veteran of the United States Air Force and lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina with his family and German Shepherd, Roxy.

Dr. Borovicka earned her BS in Pharmacy in 1989 and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 1995. She completed her Psychiatric Pharmacy Practice Residency in 1996 at the Louis Stokes Veterans’ Affairs Medical Center (RPD Matthew Fuller, Pharm.D., FASHP, BCPP). She moved on to the University of Maryland as a clinical assistant professor and psychiatric pharmacist at Spring Grove Hospital Center from 1996-2000. From there, she joined the faculty at the University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (UTCPPS) and was a tenured associate professor until 2020. She was responsible for coordinating the therapeutics courses in psychiatry, neurology, and substance use disorders in the college. In addition, Dr. Borovicka served as the Director of the ACPE accredited Continuing Professional Education Program for 14 years at UTCPPS. In June 2020, she joined MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio as a psychiatric pharmacist for both the departments of pharmacy and psychiatry where she is the first psychiatric pharmacist in the organization. She has been active in training PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents, APPE students from pharmacy schools all over Ohio as well as psychiatry, family medicine, and internal medicine residents. Dr. Borovicka coordinated the development of an esketamine clinic for MetroHealth and is responsible for management of the REMS program. She also conducts research and is active on several hospital committees. She was awarded Outstanding Professor of the Year while at UTCPPS and was MetroHealth’s Preceptor of the Year in 2021. She has authored several journal articles and book chapters.

Dr. Borovicka teaches in the long-acting injectable continuing education program provided by the Ohio Pharmacists Association (OPA) and has assisted in the certification of over 300 Ohio pharmacists in the administration of long-acting injectable agents.

Dr. Borovicka is an active member of AAPP and is currently a member of the AAPP Foundation Board. She served on the AAPP Board of Directors as the Treasurer from 2009-2011, was on the Editorial Boards for the Recertification Committee and the From Theory to Practice Committee, and was a member of the Recertification Review Course Committee from 2003-09 (Chair from 2007-09).

Dr. Veldana Alliu is a National Pharmacy Program Manager for Clinical Practice Integration and Model Advancement with the Veteran Health Administration (VHA) Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) Clinical Pharmacy Practice Office (CPPO). Dr. Alliu received completed her education at the University of Florida where she received Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology before receiving her Doctor of Pharmacy. She completed a PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency at the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System in Lake City, FL and PGY-2 in Health-System Pharmacy Administration at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC.

In her current role, Dr. Alliu serves as a national pharmacy subject matter expert supporting clinical pharmacy practice in Substance Use Disorders. Her role includes spearheading optimization, integration, and standardization of Clinical Pharmacist Practitioners (CPPs) in direct patient care roles to improve Veteran access comprehensive medication management services. She is actively involved in both the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists (FSHP). Within FSHP, she is the education coordinator within her regional chapter and was appointed to the state’s Ambulatory Care Clinical Council. Dr. Alliu has worked for the VA for over 10 years as a Clinical Pharmacist Practitioner and Clinical Pharmacy Leader before joining CPPO in 2019.

Tera Moore, Pharm.D., BCACP has served the VA for over 19 years and is the National Program Manager for Clinical Practice Integration and Model Advancement with the Department of Veterans Affairs Pharmacy Benefits Management Services, Clinical Pharmacy Practice Office (CPPO). In this role, Dr. Moore develops and manages initiatives that aid in demonstrating the value and criticality of advancing clinical pharmacy practice across VA facilities. She has a particular emphasis on program development, implementation and outcomes assessments designed to evaluate the impact of clinical pharmacy services impact on the quadruple aim of health care including better care, reduced health care costs, improved patient experience and provider well-being in Mental Health, Suicide Prevention, Substance Use Disorders and Neurology. As a component of support for clinical pharmacist practitioners and clinical pharmacy leaders, she leads the innovative mentorship and coaching efforts. These programs provide clinical pharmacy practitioners and clinical pharmacy leaders the skills and support to transform clinical pharmacy practice to the changing needs of patients as part of a high reliability organization.

Dr. Moore received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of New Mexico and completed an ASHP-accredited Ambulatory Care Specialty residency at the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) in San Antonio, TX. She is a Board Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist. Dr. Moore’s experience spans across clinical practice, residency program director and leadership roles including Associate Chief for Clinical Pharmacy Services and Acting Chief of Pharmacy. Dr. Moore is a past recipient of the Certificate of Commitment from the VHA Acting Deputy Undersecretary for Patient Care Services, the VHA Under Secretary for Health Pharmacy Benefits Management Innovation Award and the PBM CPPO was awarded the ASHP Board of Director’s Award of Excellence. She was a member of the National Quality Forum’s National Quality Partners™ Serious Mental Illness Action Team in 2019 and has given multiple presentations reflecting her expertise in clinical pharmacy practice and leadership. She also has authored a number of peer-reviewed publications. She is a long-standing, active member of professional associations including the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) and the American Association of Psychiatric Pharmacists (AAPP). As part of these organizations, she is a member of the ASHP Council on Education and Workforce Development and the AAPP Professional Affairs Committee, Core Outcomes Set Task Force and Workforce Development Paper Task Force.

Ian McGrane, PharmD, BCPS, BCPP

Dr. McGrane graduated with a doctor of pharmacy degree from the University of Montana in 2011 and completed residency at the Western Psychiatric Institute of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and then the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, Illinois. He is currently an associate professor at the University of Montana’s Skaggs School of Pharmacy, with a clinical practice site at the Neurobehavioral Medicine Inpatient Unit of Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula.

While the majority of his scholarly work are related to therapeutic drug monitoring and drug-drug interactions of psychiatric medications, some of his early review articles surrounded the use of melatonin for various indications. These projects stemmed from performing a formulary review at his PGY1 residency program and continued mentorship by Jonathan Leung and Shelby Corman. Most recently, Dr. McGrane has co-authored two continuing education book chapters on sleep-wake disorders for ACCP with the assistance of AAPP members Jonathan Lister and Caitlin McCarthy- who he would like to thank.

Ericka Crouse is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Outcomes Sciences at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Her clinical practice sites include inpatient psychiatry and an outpatient substance use disorder clinic. Dr. Crouse received her PharmD degree from the University of Florida. She completed a Geriatrics Specialty Residency at the Durham VAMC in Durham, NC followed by a Specialty Residency in Psychiatric Pharmacy at the Virginia Commonwealth University Health System. Prior to transitioning to academia, she practiced full time as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist on the inpatient psychiatry unit at VCUHS for over 10 years, and served as a PGY2 Psychiatric Residency Program Director. Dr. Crouse’s areas of interest include geriatric psychiatry including dementia and delirium; schizophrenia, mood disorders, acute agitation and substance use disorders. She is interested in patient safety and reduction of medication errors. Dr. Crouse has authored book chapters on dosage forms of psychiatric medications in textbooks focused on psychosomatic medicine.

She has been actively involved in AAPP since her residency and has served on a variety of committees, served as Secretary to the Board of Directors, and currently serves on the Substance Use Disorders Committee.

Partial credit is not provided; your exam score must meet or exceed the cut-off score in order to receive the ACPE and BCP Recertification credit.
