JCPP Releases Key Elements of a Pharmacist Practice Management Ecosystem

The Joint Commission of Pharmacy Practitioners (JCPP) has released a new document titled Key Elements of a Pharmacist Practice Management Ecosystem (January 14, 2026). This publication defines the essential components of the pharmacist’s practice management system—one of the three core dimensions of a comprehensive pharmacist professional patient care practice.

The Key Elements of a Pharmacist Practice Management Ecosystem framework describes the operational, structural, and organizational elements that enable effective implementation of pharmacists’ patient care services. Together with the other two dimensions, the Philosophy of Care and the Patient Care Process—this new guidance provides an integrated foundation for high-quality, patient-centered pharmacy practice across settings. This release complements the May 2025 revision of the JCPP Pharmacist Patient Care Process (PPCP), further advancing the profession’s commitment to consistent, evidence-based patient care and accountability. By describing the management systems that support and sustain care delivery, the Key Elements of a Pharmacist Practice Management Ecosystem helps pharmacists and organizations translate the PPCP into daily practice.
