CPNP President Letter
Colleagues,
Spring is in the air and what a great time of year. We are just a couple of weeks away from our 11th Annual Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona. I hope to see many of you in attendance for what should be an invigorating meeting filled with science and cutting edge practice. There will be ample opportunity to network, catch up with old friends and develop new ones. We will be debut our NAMI Walk on Wednesday morning and hope you all will participate in this fund-raising event. Looking forward, President-Elect Carla Cobb, will be rolling out the CPNP agenda for 2008-2009 during our Town Hall Meeting on Wednesday morning. For those not attending, these details will be included in the Summer Newsletter following the Annual Meeting.
Spring is also a time for optimism, renewal, and fresh ideas. What better time to roll out CPNP's new logo. The logo, used for the first time in this E-news, features vibrant, modern colors, a neuronal symbol representing our dedication to neuropsychiatric disorders and a tagline that expresses the passion and dedication our members share: Improving Minds. Improving Lives.
We are very excited to provide an expanded introduction to our new look at the Town Hall meeting along with the redesigned website layout. I would personally like to thank all of those involved with the development of our new look, including board members, staff, past presidents and many committee chairs and members. Change is always a challenge and never universally endorsed, so I applaud all of the diligent efforts to create the new face of CPNP--a logo we feel represents the innovative pharmacy practitioner, scholar, educator and advocate that is CPNP.
"This outward spring and garden are a reflection of the inward garden."
- Rumi
Sincerely,
Sheila Botts, Pharm.D., BCPP

Annual Meeting Boasts Record Pre-Registrations
- Over 410 individuals have pre-registered to attend the CPNP Annual Meeting to be held April 13-16, 2008 at The Scottsdale Plaza in Scottsdale, Arizona. This surpasses last year’s total enrollment of 388 registrants. Registrations will be accepted online through Monday, April 7. After that registrations will only be accepted on-site in Scottsdale.
- Don’t forget to pre-register for the industry symposium opportunities available Sunday through Tuesday. Space is limited at these events. Registrations are accepted individually by each symposium provider.
- Annual Meeting banquet registration is still open. There is a modest charge to attend the banquet at the Corona Ranch this year where we will observe officer transitions, recognize award recipients and enjoy an excellent buffet and a Mexican rodeo. Pack your jeans and western gear for a great time at the Corona Ranch!
- Several nights are sold-out at The Plaza but the hotel will place you on a wait-list and work to obtain a room for you if you are just now registering and making arrangements. Lodging, overflow lodging and ground transportation information is available for your convenience in pre-planning your lodging and travel to Scottsdale.
