AAPP submitted comments on CMS’s CY 2027 Hospital Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) proposed rule, supporting CMS’s proposed updates to payment rates for Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs) and Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHPs) by using the most recent available claims and cost data. AAPP also used this opportunity to highlight the important role of psychiatric pharmacists and comprehensive medication management in interdisciplinary behavioral health care and encouraged CMS to ensure future payment policies recognize the resources needed to support these services and to reimburse those services appropriately.
