Looking Back, Looking Ahead: The Power of Progress and Giving

As we step into the final stretch of the year, there’s a natural tendency to reflect on what has been accomplished over the past year, and to set goals for the year to come. Very soon, we’ll be in the heat of the holidays and the season of giving. It’s a time not just for celebration, but also for purpose.

The AAPP Foundation Board of Directors has spent the past year working toward one clear goal—the mission of our organization: “to advance the psychiatric pharmacy profession through meaningful support of research, scholarship, and practitioner development.” And thanks to your generosity, we’ve made incredible progress.

Over the last year alone, the Foundation awarded over $70,000 in research grants and staff support for projects both large and small. These aren’t just numbers—they represent hard work, careers launched, services expanded, and patients impacted.

Our grant programs include: Outcomes Research Grants, Practice Expansion Grants, Defining the Future Research Grants, Collegiate Chapter Impact Grants, DEI Grants, and Student Registration Grants to bring future psychiatric pharmacists to our annual meeting.

Each of these programs helps spotlight the role psychiatric pharmacists play in improving lives. But more importantly, they help sustain the future of the field. To keep them going, we need your continued support.

Our goal is ambitious, but necessary. We are working to raise $75,000 to ensure these programs not only continue, but grow. And that takes long-term, committed support.

Here are a few examples of what your donation can do:

  • $5,000 or more (one-time)
Helps sustain large-scale grant programs that transform psychiatric pharmacy practice.
  • $1,000/month
Seeds the next Outcomes Research Grant—research that has the potential to reshape how psychiatric pharmacists are integrated into care teams.
  • $500/month
Fully funds the Collegiate Chapter Impact Grant Program, inspiring the next generation of advocates and leaders.
  • $250/month
Supports a Defining the Future Grant, fueling student and resident research aligned with our mission.

If you’ve ever received a grant, mentored a student, presented at the AAPP Annual Meeting, or simply believed in the power of what we do—then you’ve already felt the impact of this work.

As the year winds down and you begin thinking about your end-of-year charitable giving, we hope you’ll include the AAPP Foundation in your plans. Your gift, in any amount, helps us continue to fund the programs that move our profession forward.

Let’s close out the year with purpose—and with progress. Thank you for all you do, and for being part of this important journey.

Warm regards,
Mary Borovicka
