Carla Cobb is a psychiatric clinical pharmacist at Capita Consulting. Carla graduated from the University of Manitoba and received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. She completed a residency in psychiatric pharmacy at the University of Texas and San Antonio State Hospital. She is board certified in psychiatric pharmacy. She is a founding member and past-president of the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists (CPNP) and currently serves as past-chair of the Government Affairs and Professional Affairs committees. She is a past board member of the CPNP Foundation and serves as an ad-hoc member of the Montana Pharmacy Association legislative committee. She was a founding member of the local chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness and is a long-time supporter of NAMI-Billings and NAMI-Montana. Her practice and research is focused on the team approach to care for people with psychiatric disorders in the primary care setting, specifically pharmacist-provided comprehensive medication management for people with psychiatric disorders. In 2013 she was awarded the Bowl of Hygeia for outstanding community service and in 2015 the Judith J. Saklad Memorial Award by CPNP for professional distinction and continuing dedication to the practice of psychiatric pharmacy. In 2017 she was named Pharmacist of the Year for her efforts to secure payment for patient care services provided by clinical pharmacist practitioners in Montana. She currently provides coaching for health systems integrating clinical pharmacy and behavioral health services into a team approach to care and training on psychiatric pharmacotherapy in the primary care setting.
