Orlando International Airport (MCO)

Orlando International Airport serves nearly 135 domestic and international destinations and is located just 25 miles from the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate, the host of AAPP 2024. The airport code MCO comes from the airport's former name, a Strategic Air Command installation named the McCoy Air Force Base, that was closed in 1975 as part of a general military drawdown following the end of the Vietnam War.

Ground Transportation

Ground Transportation Options to/from Orlando International Airport (est. 45-60 minutes*)

• Uber and Lyft: Personal ride rates are estimated at $55 one-way + tolls
  • Look for the Ride App Pickup signs at MCO
  • Both Uber and Lyft are committed to rider safety!
  • Tip! Schedule your ride share pick up from the Omni to MCO in advance of your return trip. We recommend leaving the Omni 3 full hours before your flight departure if you do not have TSA Pre-Check.
• Taxi Service: The rate is approximately $97 to $102 one-way + tolls
  • MCO has a taxi stand, so advanced reservations are not required upon arrival
  • Advanced reservations from the Omni to MCO are strongly recommended due unknown availability. We recommend leaving the Omni 3 full hours before your flight departure if you do not have TSA Pre-Check.
• Mears Town Car: For a private vehicle reservation with a guaranteed pick-up time, the rate is $137 to $167 one-way, pending the vehicle selection (sedan, SUV, van).
  • Call 407-422-2222 and explain that you need to be transferred to special accounts to make a reservation. 

*Travel times vary pending the time of day. Try to avoid rush hour arrivals and departures if possible.

Rental Cars

Orlando is the largest rental car market in the world, with most of the major car rental companies located on-airport, without the need for a shuttle bus to pick up your rental car. The rental car companies are located on the A-Side and B-Side of the Terminal on the Ground Transportation Level (Level 1).

Six parking spots are available at the Omni Orlando Resort that are accessible to electric car chargers. The parking attendant will direct you to the locations.

Driving Directions

• From Orlando International AIrport - 25 Minutes/32 Miles
  Take the South exit to 417 South. Take 417 South and follow the signs to I-4 West. Take I-4 West 3 miles past the Walt Disney World® Resort exits to Exit 58. Take Exit 58 and bear right to the ChampionsGate main entrance.
• Directions from the South - via Florida Turnpike North
  Follow the Florida Turnpike North to Exit 249, Osceola Parkway, and turn left. Follow Osceola Parkway to the Greenway (417). Take 417 South and follow the signs to I-4 West. Take I-4 West to Exit 58. Once you exit, make a right onto ChampionsGate Boulevard. At the second stop light, turn right onto Masters Boulevard. The hotel is on the left.
• Directions from the South - via Florida Turnpike South
  Follow the Turnpike South from Ocala – Take Turnpike South to exit 259 to I-4. Take I-4 West to exit 58. Once you exit, make a right onto ChampionsGate Blvd., and the resort will be two traffic lights down on your right.
• Directions from the East - via I-4 West
  Follow I-4 West. Take Exit 58. Bear right off the ramp. Pass through the gates of ChampionsGate. At the second stop light, turn right onto Masters Boulevard. The hotel is on the left.
• Directions from the West - via I-4 East
  Follow I-4 East to Exit 58. Turn left off the ramp. Enter ChampionsGate gates. At the second stop light, turn right onto Masters Boulevard. The hotel is on the left.
