Program Philosophy
The Psychiatric Pharmacy Residency Program at the STVHCS in conjunction with The University of Texas College of Pharmacy has been accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists since 2005. The program is designed to provide a challenging training opportunity for individuals desiring to develop clinical competency in the specialized area of psychiatric pharmacy. The 12-month training period incorporates outpatient, inpatient, and residential experiences devoted to the development of skills essential for the delivery of pharmaceutical care to patients with mental illness.
Site Special Features
Texas licensure required in the second half of the year for residents to go off-site at the San Antonio State Hospital (required rotation).
