Program Philosophy
To build on prior education and training to develop clinical pharmacists in Psychiatry. Residents will have opportunities to function independently and work collaboratively with the healthcare team by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experience and knowledge and incorporating both into the provision of patient care that optimizes medication therapy.
Site Special Features
Our facility is a Level 1A facility which provides comprehensive medical, surgical, and mental health services to Veterans in a 53-county region of the Tri-State area of Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi. The Mental Health Service provides inpatient, outpatient, residential and a variety of other specialized mental health services to Veterans utilizing an interdisciplinary healthcare model. Our facility’s close partnership with our academic affiliate, the University of Tennessee, provides a robust opportunity for educational collaboration in scholarly activity, didactics, and curriculum development.
