Program Philosophy
The VCUHS residency program is designed to provide advanced training and education, beyond the PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency, in psychopharmacology and psychiatric pharmacy practice. Clinical emphasis is on acute adult psychiatry with opportunities for experiences in child/adolescent psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, neurology, and in ambulatory psychiatry settings. Upon completion of this PGY2 program, the resident will be prepared for a psychiatric clinical pharmacist position with adjunct clinical faculty responsibilities.
