The Mental Health Clinician attempts to provide interesting and useful insights in the field of neuropsychiatric pharmacy. Contributors can deviate from these basic types of articles, but the guidelines are provided below to help jumpstart new articles. Editorial
The editorial is written by the primary editor of an issue.
Literature Review
When possible, the MHC will include one or more literature review articles relevant to the issue theme.
Review of Drugs/Pharmacotherapy
When relevant, the MHC will provide a review of drugs or pharmacotherapy (e.g., drug tables).
Innovative Practice or Meet-a-Member
- Describes the background, day-to-day activities, patient population, setting, and other related information of a CPNP member’s role/career as a psychiatric pharmacist.
- Inclusion of videotaped interview footage and/or video of the member in action is encouraged.
Book Review
Each month, the Publications and Online Products Committee submits a book review from the suggested reading list.
Original Research
- Traditional research manuscript
- Sections should include: Introduction, Methods, Results, and Discussion
- May include summaries of originally published research written by the original authors
Case Report
- Include the details of the case (demographics, baseline information).
- Utilize the majority of the article for the main discussion of the case- assessment and plan.
- Narrative format, de-identified
Clinical Pearl
- Provide 2-3 paragraphs of general information regarding the topic of interest
- Supply 3-5 bullet points of key concepts related to the topic discussed
- Include 1-2 primary references- (the go-to references for this topic area)
