Mikaela Tayag, PharmD, PGY2 Psychiatric Pharmacy Resident, presented at the CTN Steering Committee on her 2025 Mentor-Facilitated Training Award, from NIDA and AAPP, for her project entitled Developing Crystal Clear Guidance on Methamphetamine-Induced Psychosis Recognition and Treatment. Dr. Tayag also presented posters related to this work at AAPP 2026: Crystal Clear Guidance on Recognizing and Managing Methamphetamine-Induced Psychosis and Recognition and Management of Methamphetamine-Induced Psychosis: A Focus Group Study.

Deanna Kelly, PharmD, BCPP, FAAPP, was named by NAMI as the 2026 recipient of its Scientific Research Award which will be awarded at NAMI's annual convention taking place May 27-30, 2026. The award recognizes groundbreaking contributions to the understanding and treatment of mental illness.

Tiffany Buckley, PharmD, BCPP, started a new position as Directory of Pharmacy at University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.

Leah Surbaugh, PharmD, BCPP, and Karen Moeller, PharmD, BCPP, FAAPP, co-authored Assessing the accuracy of 4 generative AI tools to guide dosing of long-acting injectable antipsychotics

Alexa Flood, PharmD and Raeschell Williams PharmD, MPH, BCPS, BCPP, represented AAPP at the RX and Illicit Drug Summit on April 7th 2026 by presenting a breakout session CE on Nitazenes, a class of novel synthetic high potency opioids.

Alex Surbaugh, PharmD, BCPP, completed the 2026 ETSU Trailblazers Trail Guide Research Mentorship Program. The program equips faculty with the tools and mentorship needed to develop strong, competitive grant proposals for external funding.

Amie Throneberry, PharmD, BCPP, received the SGAEC Excellence in Teaching Award from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Pharmacy.

Sarah Thomason, PharmD, BCACP, BCPP, FAAPP, Chair and Professor at ETSU Gatton College of Pharmacy, was an invited speaker to the 2026 RX and Illicit Drug Summit as a member of a panel on Opioid Settlement Funding.
