AAPP Joins Coalition Comments on Flavored E-Cigarette Draft Guidance

The FDA has issued draft guidance on marketing applications for flavored e-cigarettes. This guidance opens the door for the FDA to authorize more flavored products, including flavors like mint, that have historically been widely used by youth. AAPP joined 72 other partners in submitting comments surrounding the draft guidance citing the risk it poses to kids due to the lowering the scientific standard required of industry for certain flavors and making it easier for these products to receive FDA authorization. We encourage the FDA to not lower evidentiary standard e-cigarette manufacturers must meet to gain authorization for flavored products.
