The Research Community is hosting a webinar on the topic of incorporating research in your clinical practice. During the webinar, we will be focusing on the steps necessary to operationalize research in your practice. Speaker Terrance Bellnier has devoted the majority of his practice for the past 30 years to research in mental health. Terrance J. Bellnier, RPh, MPA, FASCP, is an Assistant Clinical Professor; in addition, he serves as Chief Executive Officer of the Geriatric Pharmacotherapy Institute, Inc., a not-for-profit research and education foundation, and as Research Director, Psychopharmacologist for Rochester Regional Health Systems Behavioral Health Network. Professor Bellnier is a Fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists and a member of the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology.
Dr. Bellnier has authored or coauthored over 95 articles/abstracts on the pharmacoeconomics, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics of psychotropics and comorbid illness in the mentally ill, and he acts as a reviewer for numerous journals in psychopharmacology. He has given over 100 presentations at local, regional, and national meetings. During the past 30 years, he has been Principal Investigator on over 35 multicenter studies evaluating efficacy, safety, and health outcomes of atypical antipsychotics, mood stabilizers and antidepressants. His current research interests include cost-effectiveness of long-acting injectable antipsychotics, comorbid substance abuse, side effect management, efficacy and tolerability in special populations, medical marijuana and agitation associated with dementia. In addition, he has served on the NYS Office of Mental Health and Rochester Regional Health’s institutional review board as a member and acting chairperson.
