Audiotapes of individual sessions are also available.

The cost of the CD-ROM is $79.50 plus shipping and tax as applicable and as noted on this order form. Audiotapes of individual sessions are available at $12 each or $120 for all 13 tapes plus shipping and tax as applicable as noted on the order form. Educational Goals and Specific Learning Objectives

  • Identify and evaluate psychosocial, pharmacotherapeutic, and gender-related issues associated with various stages of life that affect the treatment of psychiatric illnesses.
  • Evaluate the diagnostic and functional abilities of an autistic patient to design developmentally sensitive communication skills to optimize medication treatment and outcomes.
  • Improve treatment outcomes in patients with ADHD through the application of appropriate evaluation methods and new neurobiologic and pharmacogenetic findings.
  • Apply the change in pathophysiologic function and neurochemistry which occur during aging, to the appropriate dosage and selection of psychotropic medications.
  • Use clinical rating scales to evaluate and monitor the treatment of brain disorders in the elderly.
  • Discriminate between dementia, delirium, and depression and recommended appropriate treatment for each disease state.
  • Discuss the relationship of medical comorbidities, gender, and aging on the symptomatology and treatment of depression.
  • Choose appropriate treatment for a woman with a psychiatric illness that is influenced by hormonal changes such as premenstrual dysphoric disorder, pregnancy, and lactation.
  • Discuss the impact of federal regulations and industry guidelines for practicing pharmacists.
  • Identify the presentation of behavioral dyscontrol in men across the lifespan and develop an evidence-based pharmacologic treatment plan.
  • Describe current recommendations for the appropriate treatment of a patient with social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, or psychosis.
  • Develop an appropriate pain management program for the complex patient with substance dependence and/or other significant comorbidities.

Continuing Education Credit The College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists is approved by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmaceutical education. The 2004 Annual Meeting will provide 17 contact hours of continuing education credit.

If you are a pharmacist, practitioner, educator, scientist, administrator, resident, fellow or student involved in the pharmaceutical care of psychiatric and/or neurologic patients, we invite you to attend the Annual Meeting of the College of Psychiatric and Neurologic Pharmacists. Through this meeting, practitioners at all levels in the areas of neurology and psychiatry can grow and improve in their specialty area. The Annual Meeting also benefits those pharmacists who play an ever-increasing role in assuring appropriate drug use, providing overall pharmacotherapy management and enhancing positive outcomes. More importantly, the Annual Meeting provides an opportunity for all attendees to interact and share experiences regarding their areas of common interest.
