Kansas Concierge Doctor Raises Money for a Worthy Cause

In Wichita, Kansas Dr. Josh Umbehr’s concierge practice, AtlasMD has seen significant success by utilizing social media outlets to connect with patients and grow his practice.  After graduating from residency in July of 2010, Josh started his concierge practice, AtlasMD, from scratch.  Now, twenty months later AtlasMD has blossomed into treating 780 patients with two doctors.

Josh feels that this success is due in part to his passion for using social media to connect and interact with patients. “People want to get to know their doctor and see the human side of them before they bond with our team, and social media helps us to do that” says Dr Josh.  “I couldn’t imagine practicing medicine without the ability to interact and communicate with my patients in so many ways,” he says.

This success with social media has led Dr. Josh Umbehr to compete in a national social media challenge for small businesses. The first stage is a local competition that will then move to a national competition—with the winner receiving $10k for the charity of their choice. Dr. Umbehr’s first daughter, Katelyn, was born while he was attending medical school. Shortly after birth, Katelyn was diagnosed with Down’s syndrome.
